CCMU In Communities

CCMU is committed to supporting local health care system transformation and working with others to improve quality and reduce costs.  To this end, we participate in the Colorado Health Institute's Safety Net Advisory Committee, the Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC), and other state-level advisory committees and taskforces.

CCMU is directly involved in a health care systems improvement effort in Aurora, Colorado called Aurora Health Access. For over twenty years, engaged citizens, health care providers and local agencies have worked hard to ensure the health care system in Aurora meets the needs of everyone in the community. Despite these efforts, the current health care system in Aurora is not meeting the needs of individuals and families that live in the city at a great human and economic cost to the city.

We are also one of three grantees of The Colorado Trust for the Colorado HealthStory project, along with ClinicNET and the Colorado Rural Health Center.  This program will be collecting personal health stories from Coloradans in order to build a community understanding of the health issues facing us all, and begin a new conversation about the direction we want our health care to go.
