At the Colorado Coalition for the Medically
Underserved we believe our health care
systems in Colorado can meet the needs
of everyone in our community.
Founded with
deep commitment to caring for everyone
in our community our stated mission is:
to ensure health care systems across
Colorado meet the needs of the medically
underserved, providers and systems of
care dedicated to caring for the
underserved.
We pursue
this mission by working
AT THE
CAPITOL,
IN
COMMUNITIES and by
INCREASING
AWARENESS.
Launched in
1997, by then-President of the
Colorado
Medical Society, Dr. Gary VanderArk, and
independently incorporated in 2003, CCMU
has always had a diverse membership of
health care providers, insurance
providers, advocates and individuals. A
14 member
Board of Directors provides
stewardship and oversight of the work of
CCMU. Gretchen Hammer serves as the
Executive Director and oversees the
programs, partnerships and advocacy
efforts of the organization.
