We work with communities to create lasting change.

CCMU has a long history of working with communities to create local solutions to complex health systems problems. This work has taken us from our groundbreaking “Healthy Colorado Now” statewide tour more than a decade ago to our recent work to establish a network of community organizations working to transform local health care systems.

We believe community-driven solutions are the cornerstone of successful health care systems across the state of Colorado. We are outside catalysts aiming to inspire communities to do more than they thought possible. We provide technical assistance when needed. We work to move communities toward action. Above all, our work in communities informs and grounds every other aspect of CCMU’s work.

We believe in community-driven solutions.

We are actively engaged with a number of community coalitions working to improve health care systems across the state. CCMU is a founding partner of Aurora Health Access, a coalition of engaged residents, health care providers, and community agencies, committed to creating a health care system that meets the needs of all Aurora residents.

We are also a leader in Colorado HealthStory, along with ClinicNET and the Colorado Rural Health Center.  This program collects personal health stories from Coloradans in order to build a community understanding of the health issues facing us all, and begin a new conversation about the direction we want our health care to go.

Finally, we convene a peer-learning network of health care community organizations across Colorado, including the La Plata County Citizens Health Advisory Council, Aurora Health Access, the Northwest Colorado Community Health Partnership, the North Colorado Health Alliance, and the Community Health Partnership of Colorado Springs.
