KidzBlitz, this report was released in
May 2008 for stakeholders in children’s
health in order to improve the
implementation of these programs,
particularly during the outreach and
enrollment periods.
Building Blocks for Health Care Reform
In February 2008, Governor Ritter
released his Building Blocks for Health
Care Reform in order to lay the
foundation for statewide reform through
concrete measures and initiatives. Many
of the Building Blocks can be achieved
through Executive Orders or
administrative decisions; others must be
achieved through legislative action.
Recommendations of the Blue Ribbon
Commission on Health Care Reform
The Governor’s Blue Ribbon Commission
for Healthcare Reform (commonly called
the “208 Commission”) was established by
Senate Bill 0706-208 to analyze possible
comprehensive plans for health care
reform in Colorado. The Commission
released its final report to the public
on January 31, 2008.
A Road Map to Coverage for Colorado’s
Children
Developed by the 2010: All Kids Covered
Initiative in 2007, this outlines
strategies to provide public and private
health care for all Colorado children by
the year 2010.
Colorado Promise
During his 2006 gubernatorial campaign,
now-Governor Bill Ritter released the
Colorado Promise as an outline of
policies his administration would adopt
if elected.
